Ricardo Reid aka ‘Ric ROAR’
Born in Trinidad and Tobago July 26th, 1969.
Ricardo Reid Worked in Law Enforcement for 10 years, Port Police Officer and Correction Officer.
Migrated to the United States in February 2000, New York City.
He lived and worked in Harlem in Washington Heights for 15 years; worked in property management.
It was during this time while working as the head superintendent at the historic Dunbar Houses, that Ric's artistic self-emerged.
The Summer of 2005, Ricardo Reid created the ROAR tee shirt line, this spawned the name "Ric Roar".
Ric Roar the vocalist came into effect during year 2010 after accompanying friends - mostly disc jockeys - to different parties, my freestyle performances- were always requested.
This led to Ric building a recording studio in the basement of the building where he was superintendent -157 West 119 street.
Soon afterward, Ric formed the $ufferer $crew, a Music artist collective- made up of artists who would record there and perform as a unit, at various events.
2015 Ric moved to Ridgeland South Carolina.
In 2016, Reid got married and moved to Columbia, the capital of South Carolina.
Year 2020, Ric was finally at a position to finish unfinished work.
Quantum Beats is a recording studio located one block from where I moved to.
One of the partners that owned the studio was from my home country – Trinidad Tobago.
2023, Ric made his return to the stage with performances at the South Carolina and Charlotte- West Carnival.
Apart from doing radio interviews back home in the West Indies to promote his style of music, in October, Ric finally was able to release my first album titled Love N War.
Ric Roar is a culinary artist too; a celebrated Chef in sorts who has won cooking competitions.
Cooking staple dishes that are native to my island in Trinidad and Tobago is my specialty.
Ricardo Reid considers himself to be an artist and a builder, helping and doing his part in fusing cultures.
He prides on the fact that he is a Chef that specializes in Trinidadian cuisine.
