NEW STUDY: In May, the D.C. police commander was suspended for falsifying crime data. Yet over the last 24 hours, CNN and MSNBC have cited these stats 73 times with no mention of their shady origin.

• CNN and MSNBC cited manipulated D.C. crime statistics 73 times in 24 hours following Trump’s August 11 announcement.
• Only CNN contributor Scott Jennings mentioned the suspension of a D.C. police commander for allegedly falsifying these statistics.
• Both networks referenced January 6, 2021, 31 times while largely ignoring the crime data tampering scandal.
• Neither network has retracted their use of the contaminated statistics as of August 12, 2025.
