11:05 - 11:22 (17 mins) Jane Puszkar, and Lauren Greenwood
Lauren Greenwood is a parent that has been instrumental in locating and exposing these books. Now a certain “not so mental giant” wants me investigated for even reading the excerpts in public, but wants these books kept in the library.
You cannot make this stuff up!
Dear the board and superintendent,
I write to share some thoughts. While I have not yet had the displeasure of hearing Director Puszkar reading passages from books (out of context) in order to shock the audience I would leave you with this analysis.
If, as it sounds, Jane believes these books violate policy, then they would, in essence have be obscene per the definition of the law.
Reading obscene material in a public meeting, regardless of its presence in school libraries, is likely a violation of both state and federal law (it is not protected by the first amendment)
So, either Jane believes this material is obscene, and therefore believes she is a criminal, or she does not believe these books meet the legal standard for obscenity, and therefore was simply engaged in shameful political theater.
Which is it?
Have law enforcement been involved here? Personally I do not believe the books themselves rise to the standard, but the case could be made that the quote, devoid of context, may well do so.
I believe that the district legal team should take a close look at this, children were watching, while a pillock of the community read what she believed was obscene material.
Thank you
Ewan Ross
