This week, Chaos and Carnage dive into Trash Fire, which is aptly named because it describes the movie and occasionally this podcast - literally and figuratively - but that's the way they like it. Put on your best Sunday asbestos wear and come on down to scary town!
It's the Chaos pick of Suspiria by master of horror Dario Argento! Thankfully one of your hosts knows classic horror, right? Dance your way into dark, rainy nights and a candy cane nightmare of colorful, atmospheric suspense in this Giallo classic! Tune in for classic Chaos and Carnage bickering, discussion of what makes a Giallo film, what makes a horror 'classic', special effects and budgets, the decades-spanning trilogy Suspiria spawned and what inspired it for Dario in the first place, and Chaos' favorite death in all of horror! Witchcraft, ballet, powerful women, and Elizabeth fucking Collins-Stoddard (Original Dark Shadows is only Dark Shadows and Chaos will fight all comers on that point fuck you Tim Burton you're dead to us) all mix with briliant cinematography, lighting, sets, and direction to create what Chaos would insist is a must-see for all fans of horror. Join us or you might get a blonde, hairy-armed werewolf defenestrating you on a dark and stormy night!
Chaos and Carnage have come to tell you about a very special mission. They stand before your door and ring your bell. Through the peep hole, you see one strong looking lady and her beanied friend, chewing on a stack of pamphlets with pictures of lightning and mountains and... wizards and shit. The one in the beanie is wearing a black t-shirt covered in blood spatter that says, "Eat the Rude," and the other, while quite nice-looking in her chiffon top with the red flowers, still has something frightening peeking out of her hazel eyes. You are uncertain about losing the nice, solid slab of oak and metal between you and these two, especially as the one starts pressing a tattered pamphlet up against the glass of your door.
"Excuse me," you hear a voice, but all you can see now is the pamphlet, and pictures of great tempests on the seas, "but do you have a moment to talk today about our Lord and Savior, C'thulhu?"
Chaos and Carnage are fully on the side of youth and anarchy
Note: Can you believe how ineffective this movie's title is? "P2" are you serious? When I was editing the sound files, I kept accidentally naming this stupid movie the wrong name. I kept calling it P3 everywhere in the copy. I hate this movie. For the title alone. How bad is your movie's title when it's so f----ing unmemorable?! Movie Titles 101: Don't name your f----ing movie "P2" because that is f---ing terrible. ~the sound bod
This week, Chaos and Carnage play a game of cat and mouse with P2, a horror movie, not a parking garage level they lost their car on that one time they went shopping. But it does take place in a parking garage, which Carnage thinks is something different, at least, but Chaos is not looking forward to this premise, which not only squicks her, but is so overdone. Park in a world where even a high powered executive is just a mannequin in a Marylin Monroe dress to a coked up parking attendant complete with the scary dog character tha
