  • What is the fairest way to pay remote (work from home) workers?
Facebook announced in May that up to half of its workforce is likely to be working from home within the next five to 10 years. There is one caveat: staff salaries could be adjusted to align with the cost of living in their chosen location, meaning potential pay cuts for those considering moving away from its expensive Palo Alto base and other global hubs. Is this fair? I think about the pros and cons of paying remote (work from home) workers and come up with a compromise that is fair for workers and companies alike. Listen in and let me know if my idea has merit or if I am way off the mark.  | Find more great content on my website - JimStroud.com. (Subscribe to my blog now!)

  • Hidin' Biden - How Big Tech is Fixing the Presidential Election
The NY Post published the political equivalent of a nuclear bomb this week. Based on emails from Hunter Biden's laptop, they have found credible evidence of Joe Biden’s corruption when he served in the White House under President Obama. As amazing as this is to me, what is even more surprising is how this information has been banned from social media and censored in the mainstream media during this critical Presidential election season. What does that say about the state of our American democracy? I discuss it all in this episode.

  • Who made Yelp the racism police?
In case you didn’t know, the crowdsourced review website - Yelp will now identify businesses accused of racism on its platform. This is a VERY bad idea. Why? I share three reasons.
Yelp as the racism police is a bad idea because of the potential for abuse.
Yelp as the racism police is a bad idea because of their own hypocrisy.
Yelp as the racism police is a bad idea because of the potential loss of human life.

  • Slavery was abolished! Its time to forgive.
Americans in general identify with one form of religion or another; although that number is declining. Pew Research Center conducted surveys in 2018 and 2019 and discovered 65% of American adults describe themselves as Christians when asked about their religion, down 12 percentage points over the past decade. When the focus is on African Americans, nearly eight-in-ten African Americans (79%) identify as Christian. That is also according to Pew research. Why do I share all of that? To make a point. The overall majority of Americans claim a religion; typically Christian. Forgiveness is a major tenet of Christianity. So, why haven’t Americans, especially African Americans, forgiven slavery? I hypothesize that in this episode of my podcast.

  • Critical Race Theory is Racism. Resist it!

    ...
President Donald Trump canceled race-related training sessions in federal agencies and companies doing business with the United States government. I support that decision because the cancelled training is founded in Critical Race Theory [CRT]. In my opinion, CRT is evil and should be resisted. Not only should it be banned from the government but, corporate America and the public school systems! Unfortunately, that is not the case and CRT is taking ground in those areas of society. I discuss it all in this season two opener.  Links related to this podcast episode can be found on JimStroud.com.

  • The Case Against Reparations for African Americans
The other day, I was speaking to a very dear friend of mine about race issues in America. (My friend happens to be white.) She asked me what percentage of black people would likely hold her personally responsible  for slavery? I told her that I could not quantify a percentage but likely,  many African Americans would hold her responsible for the sins of her ancestors. For the record, I vehemently disagree with that opinion.  Why?   Over the years,  I’ve heard several arguments made for reparations on numerous occasions but none have satisfied me. Why? For me, it always comes down to this - who should pay? It is this question that my case against reparations for African Americans rest. Tune in for the details.
