Anne Kinsey is the Founder and Executive Director of Love Powered Life. Anne is a trauma-sensitive neurofeedback practitioner, HRV biofeedback practitioner, and trauma recovery coach. She is passionate about serving people who have experienced human trafficking, developmental trauma, spiritual trauma, abuse, and discrimination and practitioners who work with these populations.

Anne Kinsey first served people with lived experience of human trafficking at a drug rehabilitation facility in 2004. Four years later, she started a support group for expectant mothers and found that some were currently experiencing human trafficking or had in the past. A few years after, Anne volunteered at a local safe home for children who had experienced human trafficking. Anne and her family provided respite care for survivors, and in 2015 she and her family began a mentoring program called "Nails on the Trail." The mentoring program served trafficking survivors through hiking and the joy of survivor-created, inspirational nail art. Nails on the Trail became Love Powered Life as the vision expanded the provision of healing services for entire families and trafficking survivors of all ages.

Suamhirs Piraino-Guzman is the Head of Programs at the Survivor Alliance and a subject matter expert on trauma-informed care, mental health, and behavioral psychology. 

Suamhirs uses his energy and expertise to create equitable and nuanced services for people who are disabled or otherwise marginalized or vulnerable. His ideas about equitable services invite us to shift the ways we think about factors that contribute to an individual's vulnerability to human trafficking. Join us as we discuss what fair and quality care for people with compounding vulnerabilities could look like. 

Chris Ash is the Survivor Leadership Program Manager at CAST-LA, and Dunia Zelaya is a community leader who uses her experiences to connect with others and advocate for change. Both bring hope, energy, and graciously bold encouragement to our conversation about what a good model for trafficking rehabilitation services could look like. 

Chris and Dunia are leaders who have chosen to use their experience to inform aftercare practices for survivors of human trafficking. They have a way of correcting an unhelpful situation that leaves shame at the door and encourages listeners to do better for the survivors they are trying to help.

Yeni is a survivor of labor trafficking, a mother of three children, an artisan at The Little Market, and a member of the Garment Worker Center. 

Yeni was trafficked through an employment recruiter who promised her a well-paying job. She quickly learned that her recruiter fabricated the terms of employment and she became a victim of labor trafficking. 

Jessika Fuhrmaneck is a writer, public speaker, actor, and advocate for the support and recovery of women who have been exploited in the commercial sex trade. 

Jessika brings energy, boldness, and conviction to her work of helping hurting people get from where they are to where they want to be. Listen in as we hear from Jessika about what trauma-informed care, safe spaces, and financial and emotional stability could look like for survivors. 

Hannah Blair combines her experience as a survivor of sex trafficking with her education and professional abilities to advance the fight against sexual exploitation. We'll discuss survivors' aftercare, preventing revictimization, what survivor leadership means, and how to avoid re-traumatizing survivors with good intentions.   

Hannah collaborated with Homeland Security to train law enforcement, served as a survivor consultant with the nationally-acclaimed Polaris Project, and received the Elie Wiesel National Prize in Ethics. As a graduate student, her research was recently showcased at the Himalayan Policy Research Conference and is used to develop survivor leadership training. She works for multiple anti-trafficking organizations all over the country and has spoken at events and churches throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. She is a member of the National Survivor Alliance, the Global Association of Human Trafficking Scholars, and the Fellowship of Extraordinary Women. She continues to offer her expertise to develop training for survivor leadership and better serve survivors as they do the hard work of healing from complex post-traumatic stress disorders.

We are delighted to talk with Lyresh Magee in this episode. Lyresh is a business owner, mentor, teacher, speaker, and hairstylist. In this episode, we'll hear from Lyresh about her first-hand experience with vulnerability to abuse and exploitation that comes with systemic poverty and prejudice toward black communities.
