  • Giving Thanks is Your Missing Link to Maintaining Hope
On this special Thanksgiving Think Hope Podcast, Dr. Rosalind Tompkins and her guests share how giving thanks brings hope no matter what you are going through.  She also shares how to give thanks and unleash hope to move forward in life.
Hope has been said to be pregnant expectancy. In Hebrews 11:1, the Bible states, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (KJV). It is so important to hope until you cannot have faith without it. Hope will give you a reason to get up in the morning and continue to press on. Hope will give you a reason not to give up and to try again even after you fail. Hope will heal your disappointments and cover your failures because with hope, there is always tomorrow. Hope speaks to your future while in the midst of your today, and hope will propel you into your tomorrow's destiny.
Even in the midst of trouble, hope can be your way out. In the Book of Hosea 2:15, the Bible states, And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt” (KJV). The expression valley of Achor became proverbial for that which caused trouble.  The valley of Achor for a door of hope; i.e., trouble would be turned into joy, and despair into hope.
When we sing and give thanks even in the midst of our trouble, God will turn trouble into joy, but you must access it through the door of hope. Thanksgiving allows you walk through the door of hope, and come into the place of trust and faith in God to know that He has you in the palm of His hands and that trouble won’t last always.

Dr. Rosalind Tompkins has a lively discussion and Hope Chat with Citizen of Hope Aaronetta Frison about the life and legacy of her mother, the late, great, Rev. Dr. Berynce Clausell.  She also shares what it means to be a Citizen of Hope.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CITIZEN OF HOPE:  A citizen is one who is registered to dwell in a certain location and is a legally recognized resident of that locale.  I, Aaronetta Clausell Frison am a citizen of HOPE.  I am registered through Pay Pal to dwell there and am a legally recognized citizen, evidenced by my close affiliation to Dr. Rosalind Y. Tompkins and her works.  I became attached to Dr. Tompkins when my mother, Rev. Dr. Bernyce Clausell, announced at a Black History program that Dr. Tompkins was her role Model.  I was going through some issues of life and HOPE dwelled in me. But after going through life coaching, mentorship, and seminary school with Dr Tompkins, now I dwell in HOPE. I live there, HOPE is my home.  Being a citizen has its privileges. As a citizen of HOPE, I can browse the HOPE UNIVERSE website at any time to keep abreast of events, resources, great HOPE thoughts, interviews, poetry, mission trips/projects.  Being a citizen of HOPE gives me access to Dr. Rosalind Tompkins for life coaching, counseling, HOPE chats and prayer.  Being a citizen of HOPE keeps me in the know of her speaking engagements, radio/tv interviews, Podcasts and Broadcasts. Being a citizen of HOPE enables me to be empowered to help myself and others by spreading the message of HOPE one person at a time.

  • Meet Phenomenal Citizen of Hope Margy Otiato
A few years ago, my husband Kwame and I had the privilege of meeting Margy Otiato while on a mission trip with Dr. Patricia Bailey Ministries in Nairobi Kenya.  We were there to support the South Sudanese refugees that fled to the refugee camps in Nairobi after the tribal upheaval.  I then met Margy at one of the Sisters Empowering the World retreats in Los Angeles California and I told her about the hope campaign and how we are spreading hope.  She was very interested and encouraging.  Once we begin celebrating April National Month of Hope she contacted me via social media and said that she wanted to be a part of what we are doing to spread hope.  I sent her the information about becoming a Citizen of Hope and true to her word, she signed right up.  I am very impressed with this young lady and her love for Christ, her enthusiasm reminds me of me.  On today's show, I will have a Hope Chat with Margy and talk about things pertaining to her life and hope.
Margy is a partner with Master's Touch International's Arm of Sisters Empowering the World as a volunteer, trainee, and resource contact.  She works at the United Nations as a peer counsellor for supporting staff in distress or crisis during emergencies or grief.  Margy was born in Uganda as a Kenyan bred citizen.
