In this lesson, we discussed the basic questions that drive our understanding of G-d. Questions like, “What is G-d?” “Where is G-d?” “How did G-d come to be?” and “Is G-d a He, a She, or a They?”  These initial discussions will clear away some common confusion-causers and set the stage for a deeper appreciation of Judaism’s unique approach to understanding G-d.

Moses tells us we have a choice in life. Follow the 613 commandments, with the promises of blessings from G-d. Or don't listen to G-d with promises of curses. But is the choice really that clear? G-d's path doesn't seem so fun, and not listening to G-d doesn't seem full of curses.  

Knowledge and belief in G-d why are both important?

Read the Bible, and you will see a list of Punishments for all different sins. You will see people being punished for misdeeds. When something bad happens in life, is that a clear indication of sin? If it's not, then what is it for, and how would we respond? And what do we make of all the verses pointing to Punishment?
