Think Spiritual

I'm slightly annoyed at the moment because I had a great description written here and for some reason it kept breaking my XML file. I know, Dear Subscriber, that you do not need to know that, but I felt like telling you anyway. I hope it doesn't detract from your enjoyment of this episode. Some consider Gravity to be a great thrill-ride of a movie. Some consider it terrible due to its "scientific inaccuracies". Today I'm going to prove to you that it's really all about walking the path to spiritual enlightenment.

NEW SERIES! Bernardo and Gonzo join Mark for movie night to discuss the spiritual lessons that can be taken from 80s Swordporn (or Sword and Sorcery) movies. First up is the tale of the immortals: Highlander from 1986! It's super interesting and check out the video on YouTube for trivia from the movie and to have a look at the first inklings of where the Think Spiritual video themes are heading.

It's part 3 of the Hero's Journey series and I have to say that I'm not feeling particularly "spiritual" this week. That's probably fairly normal and maybe it's actually a good thing if I'm not constantly on a high-horse. I guess a soapbox will have to do (ha!). Anyway, I hope you find this episode interesting and enlightening and I hope you see the fun in Alanis Morissette turning this particular metalhead into a fan. Not sure what that means? Well, you had better tune in to find out!

I must have been a little confused this week. I put out an episode on Monday because of illness last week and that somehow made me forget to put out the podcast scheduled for this week. I didn't even finish processing the MP3 it until very late Thursday evening. Well, it's here now and it's a great conversation with my mother, Gwen. Recorded at Christmas time (2017), it's a really interesting view into the spiritual journey of a true seeker...or questioner as she likes to call herself. Enjoy!

I apologize for the lateness of this episode! I was sick...I really was...and I didn't think anyone would want to listen to my phlegm-filled voice. So, here is a non-phlegm podcast examining the spiritual elements of another movie. I'm going full-nerd and bringing on the Star Trek.

This particular podcast was recorded before I had my episode numbering sequence worked out, so ignore where I say "Episode 9" (even though it is technically Episode 9) and trust me when I say it absolutely is Musings and Snippets #2. This one is a conversation between Christine and I about the crazy physical things we identify with as we traverse this mortal plain. It's all one big Musing in one 47 minute Snippet! I hope you like it.

Part 2 of the Hero's Journey deals with a difficult aspect - refusal of the call to adventure. Mark outlines the extreme negatives that can occur when the Call is ignored for long periods of time. This episode isn't exactly fun and Mark goes on a bit of rant, but it's interesting and eye-opening. Have a listen. Take heed. Enjoy!
