Some consider Gravity to be a great thrill-ride of a movie. Some consider it terrible due to its "scientific inaccuracies". Today I'm going to prove to you that it's really all about walking the path to spiritual enlightenment.

NEW SERIES! Bernardo and Gonzo join Mark for movie night to discuss the spiritual lessons that can be taken from 80s Swordporn (or Sword and Sorcery) movies. First up is the tale of the immortals: Highlander from 1986! It's part 3 of the Hero's Journey series and I have to say that I'm not feeling particularly "spiritual" this week. That's probably fairly normal and maybe it's actually a good thing if I'm not constantly on a high-horse. I guess a soapbox will have to do (ha!). Anyway, I hope you find this episode interesting and enlightening and I hope you see the fun in Alanis Morissette turning this particular metalhead into a fan. Not sure what that means? I must have been a little confused this week. I put out an episode on Monday because of illness last week and that somehow made me forget to put out the podcast scheduled for this week. I didn't even finish processing the MP3 it until very late Thursday evening. Well, it's here now and it's a great conversation with my mother, Gwen. I apologize for the lateness of this episode! I was sick...I really was...and I didn't think anyone would want to listen to my phlegm-filled voice. So, here is a non-phlegm podcast examining the spiritual elements of another movie. I'm going full-nerd and bringing on the Star Trek.

Part 2 of the Hero's Journey deals with a difficult aspect - refusal of the call to adventure. Mark outlines the extreme negatives that can occur when the Call is ignored for long periods of time.
