    ELISABETTA, FOUNDER + EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Elisabetta Colabianchi was born in San Francisco, California and is a graduate of the University of San Diego where she studied foreign languages, biology, and peace & justice studies. After graduating from college, she moved to New York City to work with a non-profit organization helping low-income clients apply for public benefits and learn about financial management. While in New York, she studied global affairs at New York University and participated in a study abroad trip to the United Nations in Geneva. This experience inspired her to apply for the Peace Corps. Shortly after, she moved to Mozambique and began working as a Peace Corps Volunteer at a rural hospital. When Elisabetta returned to the United States in the fall of 2014, she created a non-profit social enterprise, Kurandza, to continue supporting the village where she lived and worked for three years. She now splits her time between California and Mozambique.
