Oh to be a child again without the adult duties! As a child we had few cares. But with adulthood comes more responsibilities. The same is true in the spiritual realm. With spiritual maturity comes more duties. Jesus delineated in Luke 17 not only the adult duties we have towards one another, but also towards God. It is an adult thing for us not to cause an offense for others to sin, to rebuke open sin in a brother, and to forgive upon repentance. It is an adult duty for us to serve God using the gifts God has given to us. To do such duties which are difficult, we might be tempted to think, like His disciples, that we need to have increased faith. But all we need is to exercise what little faith we might have-- child-size, child-like faith. For God is able to do the impossible as we trust Him!
