  • PEACE

This week with everything that is happening in our country and around the world, the one thing I think we need more of is "Peace." And, that's why we've chosen this as the theme for this week's show. From the chaos in Congress, to the conflict in Israel, the one thing that this country and the world needs is more Peace. And, this week we plan to talk about and discuss the drama taking place in the Halls of Congress. Republicans can't seem to come together and elect a Speaker of the House.

Meanwhile, there is a war taking place in Gaza City where the Israelis and Hamas are fighting each other. And the impact of the Hospital bombing the fallout from it, the ripple effects are being felt around the world. With a lot misinformation being out there whether its on social media or elsewhere, our goals is to add some clarity and context to what is happening in the Middle East.

Finally, we plan to talk about what's going in the Motor City with the hottest ticket in town and that is the Detroit Lions. Coming off a recent lost to the Baltimore Ravens, I am still hopeful and optimistic that this could still be a special season for the team in the Honolulu Blue & Silver.

PLUS, we have got a dynamic Thought of the Weekly entitled, "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands." A message that I believe will resonant with those who feel downtrodden; who feel like the weight of the world is on their shoulders. God knows what you are going through and most importantly, He cares. This is definitely a message that I truly believe is going to bless you!

I pray the peace that we talk about in this week's show is what is you feel in your life and the lives of all those who will hear this show.

    - Peace

  • "Where Do We Go From Here?" - 4th of July Edition

We are back with a brand new episode of the podcast, and we are dedicating the entire show to the discussion of the two controversial rulings handed down by the Supreme Court just a few days ago. Overturning Affirmative Action and essentially rolling back 100yrs of legal precedent in this country. The Supreme Court appears to be coming after minorities and college students in a big way, and we plan to share our thoughts on where we are, and answer the question, where do we go from here?

Obviously, there is a lot to discus, a lot to unpack, and we definitely plan to take a deep dive in this week's podcast episode. • The Tennessee Three & Me

These past two weeks have probably been the most hectic, but at the same the most prolific. Beginning just a day before Good Friday, April 6th two young Black Tennessee (TN) Lawmakers by the names of Justin Jones and Justin Pearson were put on trial and expelled by the TN GOP Super Majority in the TN State House. A third White Lawmaker by the name of Gloria Johnson was spared by one single vote. Some say only because of the color of her skin, which she-herself believes to be the case. These young lawmakers were expelled; according to the TN Speaker of the House, for violating house decorum, when they staged a protest in the middle of session using a bull horn to draw attention to important gun violence legislation. Their expulsion captured the attention of the entire nation and even the world, and just days later they were reappointed back to their seats to continue their fight for their constituents.

In tonight's episode we chronicle the Tennessee Three's heralding display of courage and determination that led them from expulsion to reappointment and beyond. We do so with the backdrop of a question or a proposition that we plan to share that we also provide evidence to support for our case, that what happened in TN can happen anywhere in this country. Its a harsh reality to accept, but it is one that is frighteningly true. But, it is also a problem that we have the power to do something about. We share the solution in tonight's episode.

PLUS, if there is one takeaway from the events that have transpired over the past two (2) weeks, it is we have gotten the opportunity to be introduced to the eloquence and the brilliance of these two TN Lawmakers; Rep Justin Jones & Justin Pearson. And, as an added bonus to tonight's episode we share with you the powerful speech the Rep. Pearson gave at the TN House on the night of his expulsion that galvanized not just the community of TN, but this country around the subject of gun violence, activism, and the power of the people's voice. Our Thought of the Week is coming from Rep. Justin Pearson during tonight's powerful episode. Needless to day, this is another powerful episode that is definitely appointment listening, and one that we hope sparks conversation, discussion, and much needed attention around the subject of gun violence, voting and most importantly activism.

  • "Women of Influence"-Birthday Edition, featuring Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kyra Harris-Bolden

We are celebrating our Birthday in a BIG way. Tonight, we are sharing an interview we had with newly appointed Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kyra Harris-Bolden. Justice Kyra Harris Bolden joined the Michigan Supreme Court on January 1, 2023, when she was appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, making her the first Black woman to serve as a Justice. A graduate of Southfield Public Schools, Justice Bolden received her bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. While serving as a state representative in the Michigan House of Representatives, Bolden advocated for Michiganders as a member of the Judiciary Committee and focused her work on criminal justice reform, crafting and passing bipartisan legislation to protect survivors of sexual violence.

In her interview she shares contemplating a run for Michigan Supreme Court Justice after being asked by retiring Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence. Justice Bolden initially rejected the idea. But gave it some thought after becoming pregnant with her first child. What made her decide to go for it was always wanting her daughter grow up knowing that there as a Black Woman on the Michigan Supreme Court. And, now she has made this new reality a bit more personal; a new mother, becoming the first Black Woman ever to hold a sit on Michigan's highest court. This is an exciting an historic interview that we can't wait to share.

PLUS, as we put a bow on "Women's History Month" we have a very special Thought of the Week that's entitled, "A Revelation Worth Sharing" that we believe is not just for women but is for all of us. It originates from the age old missed understanding of the most celebrated and most misunderstood women in history - Mary the Mother of Jesus. It is definitely a revelation worth sharing. We hope you get a chance to share in our special Birthday Edition of the podcast and do us a favor as our birthday wish, share this podcast episode with as many people as you can.

Finally, thanks to all of you who have wished us a Happy Birthday. Your sentiments and birthday wishes are greatly appreciated. See you in the next episode.
