Good morning, and welcome to Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D ! Pull up a chair, grab your coffee and join us as we unpack the highlights and heart lessons from Sunday’s message at Coast Life Church.

This week, we kick things off with an update on GrandPastor-D, checking in on his recovery and celebrating the progress of healing — proof that prayer, patience, and probably a little stubbornness still work. Pastor-D will also touch briefly on the unfolding Epstein story, offering a little perspective before we turn our focus to more uplifting territory.

From there, we dive into the sermon, exploring the idea of our relationship grid — who belongs in our lives and why it matters as Christians. Pastor-D will help us spot the “right Paul” in our world as we consider the people who shape our walk.

Next, we’ll talk about cultivating friendships that do more than pat us on the back — the kind that cheer us on and lovingly call us out when needed. Pastor-D will share a few stories from his own journey in pastoral leadership, along with the lessons he’s learned along the way.

We’ll wrap up by exploring what it really means to mentor someone else, and how to know whether you’re ready to step into that role — because shaping the next generation of believers is a calling, a responsibility, and occasionally a test of your faith.

Good morning and welcome to Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! Please join us this week for a deep dive into the subjects from Sunday's sermon at Coast Life Church: Build Your Life.

We'll answer a couple of listener questions, one of which comes from our Coast Kids group, about what God was doing before he ever created man.

We'll then dive into the sermon with a discussion about family, how Jesus modeled the family concept for us and what you should be getting out of your Church family. Listen in while Pastor-D uses Joe as an example of how the Church can serve as a beacon of light even in troubled times.

Pastor-D will show us how you can use the Church as a relationship network and what that means in a practical sense. He'll also tell us how we divvy up Church funds for missions vs. saving for a new building.

Hello! Welcome to Thinking Out Loud With Pastor-D! Please join us this week as we go through Pastor Phil's journey through finding a new kidney!

We'll open up this week with some background about Pastor Phil's experience leading up to receiving his new kidney. We'll also speak with Denise Albritton about her decision to donate a kidney and how unlikely the scenario was that brought them together.

Pastor Phil will then take us through the Sunday sermon contrasting our physical health with our spiritual health. We'll discuss how important it is to take care of our physical health so that our abilities to live out God's plan for us is not disturbed. Additionally, we'll discuss what it might look like to overdo it with our physical health and how vanity sometimes plays a part in the process.

Pastor Phil will then tell us about what it's like to have a new lease on life with the donated kidney and what he thinks about how God does miracles through regular people.

Good morning! Welcome to another edition of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! Please join us this week as we discuss some current events in the news and go through the sermon from Sunday's worship service.

We'll open up this week, just like Pastor-D did in the sermon, talking about Hillary Clinton and her comments about what she calls "her Christianity." We'll see what Pastor-D has to say about people who claim to be Christians but don't advertise the fact that they are. We'll also hear about the Coast Kids' trip to Grandpastor-D's recovery unit to lead worship there.

We'll also discuss the attack on one of the United States' Muslim members of Congress. Pastor-D will tell us whether he thinks the fix is in and what we should do with this person.

As we get into the sermon, we'll pick up from last week talking about grudges and whether they serve to protect us in any way. Then we'll talk about some of the reasons that people tend to worry more about their outward appearance rather than what's going on inside of them. We'll talk about vanity, what a really healthy heart looks like and how to get to that in our lives.

Finally, we'll discuss our relationships with other people and how being unhealthy on the inside can lead to relationship destruction on the outside. Pastor-D will tell us how to go about working on our love for others and how listening to our hearts or emotions can lead to problems.

Good morning and welcome into another episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! We hope you'll join us this week for an in-depth discussion about the Sunday sermon at Coast Life Church: Build Your Life.

We'll begin the podcast with a quick update about GrandPastor D's recovery from hip surgery and his expected return to Church. Pastor-D will also give us his opinion about Greenland and how the POTUS is handling negotiations with other countries.

We'll then delve into the many reasons we find ourselves trying to get revenge on others, holding grudges and expressing disappointment. Pastor-D will walk us through the reasons why and give us some practical advice on addressing these types of issues in our own lives.

We will go on to talk about righteous anger vs. ego-driven anger and when righteous anger is an appropriate response to conflict. We'll also find out exactly what Jesus meant when he told us to get the log out of our own eye before we try correcting others.

Finally, we'll go in-depth on grudges. We'll discuss how we use them to protect ourselves and what grudges might do to our own character over long periods of time. Additionally, we'll discuss where the line is between bearing a burden for someone else and how overdoing that can make us bitter and resentful.

Good morning and welcome to another episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! Please join us as we discuss the Sunday sermon at Coast Life Church.

We'll begin the podcast discussing Pastor-D's sticky handshakes and beard-smelling technique. Then we'll hear about the grand conspiracy that trapped GrandPastor-D in the rehabilitation unit out at the VA so he couldn't come to Church. We'll also touch on the death of Scott Adams and remind everyone about the dangers of taking a pragmatic approach to our faith.

We'll then discuss truth, what it is and why it is required in order to receive God's grace in our lives. Pastor-D will also tell us about the dangers of overemphasizing grace and risking the avoidance of recognizing the sin involved with experiencing that grace. Additionally, he'll tell us how to let go of guilt when we've been fortunate enough to experience grace.

We'll talk about the woman who committed adultery and how, sometimes, we should consider the perspective of the woman rather than the crowd. Pastor-D will also tell us how he believes that Jesus may have been set up in that situation.

Finally, we'll discuss anger and rage. We'll talk about how quick we are to experience anger and rage and how to slow our emotional response so that our anger doesn't jump out in front of everything.

Hi and welcome to Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! Please join us as we discuss this week's sermon at Coast Life Church...and other things.

We'll open this week with an update on GrandPastor-D and his progress through his hip surgery. He's actually expected to make an appearance at Church this week!

We'll then get deep in the woods with some listener questions. First, we'll address the role of our spirituality in helping us to recover from mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression. Then we'll address the question of whether belief in God as a pragmatic approach to the afterlife is something that will get us into Heaven. Finally, we'll discuss the political violence around the US, why it's occurring and what Jesus would do in these situations.

Our sermon this week was about being like Jesus. We'll investigate how to be like Jesus not only in how we behave, but how we go about our daily lives. We'll also discuss the "rules" that Jesus left for us and why some people have such a hard time believing that they can follow them.

We'll then ask Pastor-D about why he thought Jesus was "hangry" and how we should interpret his actions in cursing the fig tree.

Finally, we'll talk about how lonely it must have been for Jesus when he lost connection with God and was bearing the burden of our sins at the same time. Pastor-D will tell us what the most important example that Jesus left for us and how we should use that example in our own lives.

Hello and welcome to another episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! Please join us as we delve into a new sermon series entitled: Build Your Life.

We begin this week with an update on GrandPastor-D and his recovery from surgery. Then we'll compare a kingdom to a democratic republic and try to decide what Jesus would say to us when we go to vote.

We will then go into a couple of listener questions about Jesus' love for those who are NOT saved and whether telling the truth is more important than maintaining harmony. Also, we'll discuss where the line is between preserving harmony and being righteous.

Pastor-D will then contrast the differences in "trying harder" and "enjoying more," and show us how these two things are not the opposite of each other. He'll also tell us how to ensure that we are not trying harder at the wrong things.

Finally, we'll discuss how significant the presence of God is in Heaven with us. We'll discuss how to relate that to those who may not be saved and how to NOT measure God's love for us in terms of what we have or what we get in this life.

Hello and welcome to another episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! Please join us as we do a deep dive into our Church's most recent sermon: Angel's Song - Favor Rests.

We'll begin with a review of Pastor-D's most recent hunting trip. Then he'll update on GrandPastor-D and his progress in healing from a broken hip. We'll talk about modern-day billionaires and see what Jesus would think about a handful of people in the world holding the vast majority of wealth and power. We'll also get some clarification on a previous question Joe asked about God's glory.

As we begin with the sermon, Pastor-D will tell us about the different ways that God provide favor to us and how some people have issues believing that they are favored simply because bad things happen to them from time to time. He'll also clear us up on why the Bible tells us to face reality when we know that favor and peace are with us.

Pastor-D will then delve into the question of the day: when receiving God's favor, why do we focus so much on outcomes rather than simply requesting his presence? 

We'll learn what "declaring" God's favor means and what it looks like when someone receives God's favor consistently.

As a bonus, Pastor-D will give us some information about the "lost" gospels that didn't make it into the Bible and where we can find some accurate information about the times and happenings of the days that aren't necessarily listed in the Bible.

Hello and welcome to Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D! Please join us for this Christmas-week edition of a podcast dedicated to exploring the weekly sermons at Coast Life Church!

This week is the culmination of our Christmas sermon series entitled, "Angels' Song." In this edition, Pastor-D opens up giving us an update on his dad. He'll also tell us about his frustration with life in the last day or two and how his sermon rang true in his own life this week.

We'll discuss attendance at large gatherings and the things that have happened in recent weeks with the terror attacks by Muslims across the globe. We'll also talk about why God promises us peace but how it seems that we never seem to see it. We'll talk about what God's peace looks like for us and how his peace doesn't always align with ours.

We'll talk about adhering to the rules that God has set forth for us and how, sometimes, a rule to someone may not be a rule to someone else. Finally, we'll discuss what you should do when God doesn't have the same plans for you that you have for yourself.
