    Business is Great but for how  Long?.  Jon reviews the latest information relative to how the visitor industry has performed over the last few months, continuing positive trends since the spring break. He reviews HTA and other industry related reports, all indicating how well the industry has fared when compared to last year, 2020 and also against the previous best year, 2019. He also discusses concerns from the local community as visitor arrivals exceed expectations and residents express concerns about overcrowding, increased traffic and crowded restaurants.  We have to balance those concerns and challenges with the fact that visitor arrivals are nearly equal to, and in some destinations, higher 2019. Managing the expectations of our visitors and improving the communication with our local resident communities are very important as we move forward.

Professor Jonathan Fineberg has traveled to China multiple times for lectures, art exhibitions and academic conferences. He has been hosting prominent Chinese artists’ visits to the US since 2005. In this episode, Professor Fineberg joins our hosts to reflect on the exchange and collaboration in the art communities in the US and China,  teaching art, and teaching creativity.

    When your organization is called out by the President of the United States and its Surgeon General stating you're responsible for the deaths of Americans due to allowing posts of false or misleading vaccine or virus information, you may want to reconsider what content you allow on your platform.  That's what happened to both Twitter and Facebook this week. As a result of this ongoing problem of not blocking comments that deny that the vaccine can save lives or the Delta variant is far deadlier than COVID, ThinkTechHawaii has decided to suspend its participation on Facebook's social media platform. Why was this decision was made will be the topic of this week's show.
