Third and Long episodes

  • Week 8: This Team Kinda Smells
The guys take a deep dive into the lack of talent on the roster and who is to blame for the way the team looks to this point. This week's episode somehow turned into a roast of Ryan Izzo, Ja'Whaun Bentley and Bill Belichick. Listen and enjoy.

  • Week 7: NOT GOOD
Welp -- this game wasn't great. You've heard us destroy Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham for how bad they've been, but there's a shot one of them will be the starter by week 9. The guys take you through exactly what wasn't working and why in the 33-6 loss at the hands of the San Fransisco 49ers (pretty much everything).

  • Week 6: Did anybody play well against DEN? It's tough to say
The guys sum up how preposterously terrible the Patriots offense looked against the inferior Denver Broncos. From the banged up O-Line, to Cam Newton, to the receivers, it was all bad. There were too many names to pick from for "Bed-Wetter of the Week" and Cam had to pick somebody that isn't a member of the Patriots for his Week 6 MVP. Jarrod introduces a new segment of "Move the Chains" where the guys discuss one change that needs to be made for the team.

  • Week 5: Bye Week Special
In the highly anticipated "Bye Week Special" the guys reflect on the Patriots' play to this point and what has been most surprising and disappointing. They give an updated record prediction. Can the Patriots keep pace with the Bills for the division? Jack has already convinced himself that a Belichick-Garoppolo reunion is imminent.

  • Week 4: Brian Hoyer May Need to Find a New Line of Work
Co-Host Cam Beall found himself on the injury report for the Week 4 recording of Third and Long. It's tough to say if he's still celebrating Jerry Stidham's appearance on Monday Night Football. Brian Hoyer put on one of the most incredibly terrible football performances the world has ever seen. The Patriots defense kept Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs at bay but it was too little too late. Bill O'Brien also (finally) fired (lmao).

  • Week 3: BREAKING NEWS -- We still hate Sony Michel
The Patriots improved their record to 2-1 with a 36-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Cam Newton played his worst game of the season to this point as he did not rush the ball much. The New England running backs carried the offense (yes, even Sony Michel). Cam and Jack are still not sold the the former 1st round pick is worthy of the starting spot, however. Tune in to hear from the founding members of the Sony Michel Fan Club.

  • Week 2: We'll Give You a Dollar if You Can Tell Us What Sony Michel is Good at
It may look a little different, and it may not be pretty all the time, but we think the Patriots will have a football season this year. Cam Newton showed off the arm talent in the 35-30 loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. He raised the play of a still lackluster WR unit, and got it done on the ground since Sony Michel couldn't. Who were this weeks MVPs? Who were the bed wetters of the week? Listen to find out.

  • Episode #1: Life After Brady; Who the Hell are these Rookies?
In the inaugural episode of Third and Long Jarrod, Jack, and Cam break down the Patriots roster after all the opt outs. How will the defense fare without Dont'a Hightower? Will the offense have a higher ceiling with Cam Newton instead of Tom Brady? Who the hell are all these rookies? All of these questions answered and so much more in the first installment of Couch Guy Sports' official Patriots podcast.
