  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Fifty years I’ve been waiting for this night, just to see him again. Join PJ and Derek as they head to Harlow, Texas to see where Leatherface has been hiding the past 5 decades in David Blue Garcia’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022). In this episode the guys discuss the film’s brutal set pieces, gruesome kills, and its muddy attempts to mix modern social commentary with old-school slasher mayhem. Even the return of final girl Sally Hardesty for an “ultimate showdown” leaves this legacy sequel feeling more hack than slasher. 📺

In this episode the guys talk about the film’s divisive reception, its place within the franchise, through its savage violence, bleak atmosphere, fractured timeline, and its surprising attempt to paint a tragic portrait of the young man destined to become one of horror’s most infamous killers. Does its grimy European-horror sensibilities make it an underrated prequel or just another bloody misfire? 📺

  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2

But the saw... the saw is family. This week PJ and Derek are joined by special guest Charlie as they descend into the unapologetically unhinged sequel that traded raw realism for outrageous satire in Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986). In this episode they unpack the radical tonal shift from the grim original to a black comedy, dissect the film's unforgettable set pieces, celebrate its outrageous practical effects, discuss the performances that helped turn the Sawyer family into horror icons, and why this once-divisive sequel has become a beloved cult favorite. Oh my achin’ banana! 📺

The last time we heard from Charlie was for our discussion on Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990).
