With this sixth volume of THIRTEEN_DUBS, I'm now really creating a calmer, more ambient mix.

I just went with the flow and created contrasting as well as buttery smooth moments in my ears, a little freer, more experimental, all for listening pleasure and a journey into spring.

[ THIRTEEN_DUBS - FIVE ]

For this fifth volume of THIRTEEN_DUBS, I took a more relaxed approach to browsing through my record collection. I attempted to create a calmer, more ambient mix—though the result ended up more varied than intended.

I needed three attempts to get it right. The first take had glitches from the recording system, the needle skipped several times, and I wasn't satisfied with the track order. I cleaned the needles, improved the setup, and reordered the tracks. The second attempt had a noticeable difference in volume between the left and right channels, along with background noise from the mixing desk. So I removed the console from the signal chain. The third take worked. All good things come in threes. Each recording had its own unique characteristics and transitions that cannot be exactly replicated, which is a bit of a bummer, as there were some beautiful transitions. The way is the destination.

[ THIRTEEN_DUBS - FOUR ]

For this fourth volume of THIRTEEN_DUBS, I set out to use exclusively records from the Echocord Colour catalog. Originally, I had the idea for the parent label Echocord, but I ended up with the child first. And, oops, Brendon Moeller appears four times in this mix — as Brendon Moeller, Echologist, and Beat Pharmacy. A small homage, then, definitely to Echocord Colour and its aesthetic. The sound goes harder and more techno here — deep, minimal, and driving, with the Echocord Colour catalog pushing into darker territories.

I played everything on vinyl again, except for the intro, which I admittedly added afterwards. The effects chain and analog setup remained as usual.

I hope you enjoy the journey through the colorful world of Echocord Colour.

[ THIRTEEN_DUBS - THREE ]

This third volume of THIRTEEN_DUBS was born in the depths of winter, when I tried my hand at making a dub mix for the first time. Drawing from the deep well of classic dub — King Tubby, Lee Perry, Keith Hudson, and the sounds of Black Ark and Wackie's — I explored echo, reverb, and space with a new intro. I hope you like it, and I'm always open to criticism.

All tracks were played exclusively on vinyl for that authentic analog warmth. I sent the individual channels through my effects chain — Modfactor, Timefactor and Space — and processed them with the HP filter of my Xone42. Behind the effects chain sits an RNC1773 to prevent level loss. Everything then went to the studio master, from where it passed through a Boum into the interface.

The technology is one thing, the music selection another. So I hope you enjoy it — a little sunshine for cold winter days.

This second volume of THIRTEEN_DUBS was born under the late summer sun.

It began as a set I played at a close friends’ gathering in early September — full of warmth, smiles, and low-end frequencies drifting through the open air. Afterwards, I reworked and recorded it onto tape as a gift for my girlfriend — a little love letter in sound. Now, I’m happy to share it with you too.

THIRTEEN_DUBS is a space for exploring deep, dubby vinyl sounds — and this chapter continues the journey, embracing meditative grooves, hazy textures, and soulful basslines.

Once again, all tracks were played exclusively on vinyl. Recorded in one take, no edits — routed through my full analog chain for weight, warmth, and presence.
