To all the full-time employed folks building a business, I've got a brain dump for you today! Do you struggle with feeling like a legitimate business owner because your business is your side gig? Do you constantly compare yourself to others who own a business and that's it?
This one's about a common motherhood challenge - keeping the house clean and clutter-less, or at least a little less clutter!
Enjoy this little brain dump that gets to a motherhood struggle I know I'm not the only one facing.
Catch up on the whirlwind few weeks I've had - spoiler alert - it includes job loss, job gain, and new biz launch!
It's my first guest episode! Dr. Suzannah Bozzone joins me to talk about building a business based on what you love. She's a Lifestyle Medicine physician based in Chattanooga, TN, who left an established practice to start her own, unique business called True Health Journey.
I've always wanted the chance to work from home and now that I have it, I share my observations from the last 6 months. I think offices or group working spaces have their place, don't get me wrong, but working from home suits me to a "T" on most days.
Some days I miss being surrounded by tons of other people, the excitement of sporting a new outfit or sharing a laugh while walking through the hall. Other days I rejoice that i don't have to navigate a 5 story parking garage 5 days a week!
On this solo podcast, recorded in Dec. 2021, I wax poetic about my goals for the next year. Do you typically choose a word for the year? I never have, until now. Find out what my word is and what I hope to achieve in my business.
Step one is even saying out loud that I have an actual business. Can you relate? When you're first starting out it can be difficult to put yourself out there, especially when you're unsure exactly how you'll brand yourself or package your services, or even what services you will offer. But, part of working through the mess of starting a business is doing things even when you don't have them completely figured out. This podcast episode is a great example of that - a bit rambly, if I do say so myself.
Listen along as I talk about launching a side business while working a day job, my vision for the work/life balance I'm working toward, and my dream of creating a community to help others along the same journey! Oh yeah, and that word for 2022.

Building a business is messy, but rather than run from it I think you should embrace it. Just look at this podcast, I launched the very first episode one year ago and then stopped - you know why? Because I let head trash tell me I couldn't do it. Perfectionism held me prisoner and I sat on recorded episodes too scared to release them, then ran down the rabbit trail of redefining my brand and business b/c that's more fun than actually doing work (can I get an amen??)
Now I'm back, taking imperfect action to get out into the world with the podcast focused on helping entrepreneurs and business owners define your brand, take imperfect action, work through mindset challenges and embrace the mess along the way.
Host: Janda White - a brand strategist, web designer, copywriter and mama who wants to create community with other solopreneurs, side hustlers, and small business owners. I truly believe we can learn so much from each other and that building a business with a community of friends is much more fun (and profitable) than going it alone.
