  • We've Got The Beat - S01 EP13

    Show Notes:

Hosts:  Peter Holmes & Rian Galliott

    Guest:  Tara Veness

    Links & References:

Regarding Vatican II and music, Tara was correct (and Peter wrong). The Second Vatican Council does indeed address music in the mass.

The document Sacrosanctum Concilium, (112-121) addresses music in public worship.

It also refers to the document Musicam Sacram.

The “millennial whoop” is a commonly used trill that sticks in our minds.

Peter also referred to The Grand Conjuration by Opeth (which he incorrectly named “the Conjuring”).

Tara mentioned Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. Various compositions of his can be found here: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6s1pCNXcbdtQJlsnM1hRIA?si=8IYQALncS7ODP8qSfvd9ZQ

    • Introducing the hosts and guest

    • What is Theology of the Body?

    • Why is it relevant to everyone?

    • Is it all about sex?

    • What about when love breaks down?

    • How does the theology of the body help healing?

    One minute wonder

Two corrections: Katrina inadvertently said it was the 50th anniversary of TOB (instead of the 40th) and she also said the future JPII came to the conclave in Rome - with an almost finished manuscript - to elect the successor of Pope Paul (she should have said Pope John Paul I).
