This podcast is part of our "Take Over This Connected Initiative" Giving others the opportunity to use our platform to share and connect others to what and how they are living out their faith.
This is that takeover episode by "Carmelita" a member of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order regarding the often overlooked situation and conditions of the Catholic Church and other people of faith in the country of Nicaragua.
Carmelite Quotes is a member of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order (OCDS) in the Washington Province whose primary apostolate is to share the message of Carmel by publishing a blog, graphics, and other resources that provide accurate quotes from Carmelite saints and authors. As a professional translator, "Carmelita" provides translation services to members of the Discalced Carmelite Order worldwide. Since 2018, Carmelita has supported the ministry and prophetic mission of Auxiliary Bishop Silvio Jose Baez of the Managua Archdiocese, who is also a Discalced Carmelite. Thus, Carmelita has assisted Nicaraguans over the last five years to spread their message among English-speaking readers. Since Christmas 2023, she has joined with another freedom-loving activist from Scotland to host the "Free the Bishops" podcast on Spotify to reach more English-speaking listeners with the message of religious freedom for the Catholic Church in Nicaragua. A clergy convert, Carmelita is a member of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter and is a volunteer organist for her local Ordinariate community.

Mary Lasham is an 85 years old youth minister.
Growing up in a difficult childhood, teen years and early on in her marriage and family life she was convicted by the Holy Spirit at the age of 35. Finding her call to "Praise God" in all she does she began youth ministry bringing not only her family back to the Church but many others including me through her smile, hospitality and JOY!
This episode is 2 years in the waiting. It was scheduled two years ago but Mary got Covid-19 and struggled to recover. At 85 she now continues to empower people to follow Jesus and glorify God.
It was a JOY to have a conversation with Mary and her son Ralph. We hope this episode inspires you.

Out of the dark.
Nallely Perez at 14 years old was pregnant. Begrudgingly she chose life for her daughter. But it was not a fairy tale ending when she chose life. At least not yet. Her journey is one of inspiration and her story is the truth of many other women who find themselves today.
In this episode we hear from Nallely Perez, a mother, a wife, and an abortion worker survivor. Listen to her story working at an abortion center and the listen to the why and what happens inside to people who work at these clinics. Listen to her story; it may not be much different than yours and maybe be the catalyst to bring about compassion to pray more and reach out to help those who find themselves employed at these clinics. Find out how she got out of that darkness and found herself in the light to help others be not victims of abortion through the organization that has fostered her vocation to be the voice of compassion.
We also hear from Maria from Respect for Life of the Diocese of San Bernardino who at the posting of this episode is fighting against the opening of another Planned Parenthood Clinic in the city of Fontana, CA.
Contact both these courageous young women to help bring about and foster a culture of life.
