It was just 80 years ago today, August 9, 1941, when the President of the United States, Franklin Roosevelt, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Winston Churchill, came together with their advisors for a meeting at Naval Station Argentia in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland. The British arrived on the Battle Ship H.M.S Prince of Wales, while the Americans sailed aboard the Heavy Cruiser U.S.S. Augusta.
