It was just 385 years ago today, October 28, 1636, when the Massachusetts Bay Colony voted to establish a theological college in order to train the ministers of the New World. In 1638, a prominent minister, named John Harvard, had left as his dying wish to see this new college grow in strength. And so it began, on this date, the cornerstone of Harvard University.
