Sadly by January 5th, 2007, third-busiest ski resort in Canada (after Whistler, B.C., and Tremblant, Quebec), Ontario’s largest ski resort, Blue Mountain, in Collingwood, was forced to lay-off 1,300 workers while they had to close down all ski operations in the middle of the winter season! It was the first time in the resort's 65-year history where they actually closed in a season for poor conditions.
