Join host Kim O'Hara and Riveter founder Amy Nelson as they talk about the demands on women in the "sandwich generation." Amy sees how women struggle with thinking they are enough because they can't be enough for everything they demand of themselves. Add in perimenopause and menopause which has been hardly talked about until now. We were advised to death on having babies and pregnancy but that is a short period of time compared to the decades we experience huge changes in our minds and bodies.
Amy shares that while she doesn't have a lot of time for her right now with four kids and building her Riveter brand back up after Covid made her go on line, she is very aware that she needs time for date nights and also solo time with one of the kids at a time. While she would love to play tennis, she knows that season will come.
In other words, in order to have little moments of peace and joy, the delicious moments don't look the same for every woman, but what is important is the conciousness and awareness of its importance.
She makes sure she gets enough sleep and lifts weights. If the house isn't clean, or everything is in order, it's more important to be happy.
