It's been a week packed full of pirates, with both International Talk Like A Pirate Day and the launch of Return to Monkey Island occurring. To celebrate, Ashley takes Chris to explore the Caribbean in Sid Meier's Pirates!, a NES game that somehow manages to squeeze a sandbox and oodles of pirate shenanigans into its cartridge. Listen in to see what we thought of it, ya landlubber!

If you're a parent of a tot that likes games, or are trying to get your child into what is unquestionably the best hobby ever, then this is for you! In an episode we recorded back in April 2021, Chris tells Ashley all about Thinkrolls this week, a iOS logic platformer that teaches nippers the basics of gaming. It's a great game - so much so that Ashley decides to play it while we record. Keep rolling, rolling, rolling to find out how we got on!

A long time ago (last Sunday), in living rooms far, far away (from each other) Chris and Ashley spent an hour chatting about the latest entry in the Lego games series, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Whether you're a long-time Lego game fan, a sceptic of the series, or just new to the whole Lego games endeavour, The Skywalker Saga will almost certainly blow you away. Listen in to find out why.

This week, it's this game where you climb up a poorly constructed skyscraper to rescue Pauline, a character you will then barely hear from for the next four decades despite all the effort you went through to help. Still, relationships are two-way streets, so maybe it's your fault as much as hers. Where were we? Oh yes! Donkey Kong is our game for this week! Join us!

Ashley has been enjoying Windbound on the PS5 this week, a game developed by ex-Bullfrog and Rockstar staff and inspired by Wind Waker's sailing, Breath of the Wild's exploration and Moana's vibes (and logo!). Listen in to find out why it's worth a look.

Ashley and Chris turn toon in Toonstruck, a 1996 PC adventure game in which a video-captured Christopher Lloyd interacts with cartoons voiced by the likes of Tim Curry and Dan Castellaneta and inspired by the 'golden age' of animation from Disney and Warner Brothers. With that weight behind it, it surely has to be great... right? Listen in to find out!

Ashley and Chris tentatively dip their toes into the world of MOBAs this week in League of Legends, a PC multiplayer online battle arena that has been going strong since 2009. Neither has any experience of such a game... what could possibly go wrong?

Chris gives Ashley a bad time this week by trying to sneak a Sonic game under the radar. Blue Sphere is an early example of an Easter egg - a set of over 134 million versons of the special stage from Sonic 3, which can only be accessed by popping a Sonic 1 cartridge into the lock-on technology offered by Sonic and Knuckles. Is this 'game' as fun as that sounds? Listen in to find out!

This week, Ashley has the urge for Axiom Verge, a Metroidvania starring a scientist who finds himself in a strange new world and sets out to find out what the ruddy heck is going on. With its polished gameplay and wonderful art style, it's well worth a go - find out what else Ashley is enjoying by listening along!
