Love in Chaos

How do you love others in chaos? The answer is as simple and as monumentally difficult as this: you continue to love. This kind of love is demonstrated throughout scripture as ‘Khesed,’ love demonstrated by loyalty in the face of betrayal and heartbreak. Our divisions have reached a point where people singing the same songs and reading the same words believe things so completely incompatible between each other that the call to love feels patently naive. But that is the character of God to the Israelites and Jesus to the people in his ministry. It is anything but easy. But it’s how we begin to make a difference in troubled times.
