Last night, the House Judiciary Committee demonstrated the true character of the Democrats’ campaign to impeach President Trump: It amounts to political warfare, pure and simple. Hence the decision to start the process of marking up the articles of impeachment orchestrated for prime-time television viewing, rather than normal business hours.

This impetus behind the ongoing, appalling miscarriage of justice in the House has been made more obvious by the articles of impeachment themselves. They do not detail actual, specific criminal presidential misconduct. And several of the crimes that had, until recently, been alleged – notably bribery and treason – are not even mentioned.

Are Democrats in districts that Donald Trump carried in 2016 really willing to go along with what is now transparently nothing more than an effort to negate their constituents’ votes? If not, will Nancy Pelosi shamefully compel them they do so?
