This is officially our 10th episode so we thought we would make it a bit special by having our first guests on the show! This week we're talking with our PhD supervisors Dr. Payam Gammage and Dr. Ed Roberts about PhDs. We discuss the history of the PhD and what it involves and then have a Q&A with our supervisors on academia in general. We answer some stupid questions we have as well as some that you guys have sent to us! Enjoy the episode and we'll see you again in 2021!

Continuing on from last week, this episode Mahnoor asks Amy all about the immune system! We discuss how the immune system protects our bodies against infections and if we can actually 'boost' it. We also talk about Amy's project and the role of the immune system in cancer. 

This week we've switched things up and Amy interviews Mahnoor on the mitochondria and her PhD project! We talk about how the mitochondria isn't JUST the powerhouse of the cell and the importance of mitochondrial DNA mutations in diseases including cancer.
