In this episode of This is Impt, Mary Raftopoulos chats with CJ about the birth of her baby, a story defined by calm, preparation and deep trust in the process.

Even after her waters broke, CJ remained cool, calm and collected. Truly putting the hyp in hypnobirthing, she approached birth the way an athlete prepares for a marathon, with focus, intention and determination.

Throughout labour, she leaned on her preparation, the unwavering support of her partner, and the guidance of a midwife who turned out to be exactly who she needed in that moment.

CJ’s story is powerful, grounding and at times almost spiritual, a reminder of the strength, mindset and support that can transform the birth experience.

In this episode of This is Impt, Mary Raftopoulos sits down with Sandy Sidhu for an honest and heartfelt conversation about the births of her two children. Sandy shares the expectations she carried into motherhood, how those expectations shifted through her experiences, and the lessons she learned along the way.

We also dive into Sandy’s love for hypnobirthing, how it helped shape her mindset around birth, supported her through labour, and deepened her sense of confidence and calm during the process. From preparation to postpartum reflections, Sandy speaks openly about the moments that challenged her, the ones that empowered her, and everything in between.

I started This is Impt during lockdown as a way to help highlight the racism and inequality we face everyday in the UK.
