I’ve been away for a while, if you hadn’t noticed. It turns out that preaparing to move out of state and transition out of your current job is shockingly time consuming. In this episode, I make my excuses and talk a little about the previous episode and the future.

In honor of Black History Month, I'll be narrating and commenting on events in black history. In this episode, I read the story of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot that destroyed the area of Tulsa commonly referred to as "The Black Wall Street". This event was not widely publicized and many of you may have never heard of it at all. This is a sobering look at American life for Blacks during a time when outward hatred of our people was commonplace. This was a time that laws were created to keep us separate from Whites and ensure that we could not progress too far as a race. This was, of course, the old Jim Crow. The new Jim Crow is much more subtle.

In this episode, I give you a bit of my CLASSIC smooth jazz radio magic and then dive into what's up with my brain. Have I been able to stay sane lo these many weeks since we first met? You'll find out!

In this LATE episode, I talk about the Gillette commercial that sparked a new flame in the discussion about some men in our society that are just the worst.

I rant against the idea of doing a "this is how I realized I was gay" episode. I talk about Kevin Heart, free speech and even drop some "N" bombs because you have to when you talk about Richard Pryor... which I do.

In this, the last episode recorded in 2018 and the last in my old style, I talk about taking responsibility for your happiness and contentment. We all have had, at one time or another, some person/people in our lives that drive us insane because we treat them better than they treat us. This imbalance causes us to question why the person doesn't see that their treatment of us is hurtful. This episode should help you get a firm grip on those types of people.

In this episode, I talk about the subject that I've been so uncomfortable talking about for so long. My weight. This has been a sore spot for me for a large portion of my life and, prior to starting this journey, I never properly dealt with where my weight issues stem from and never did any work to try and resolve my demons. This episode brings everything out into the light.

In this episode of This Is Josh, I talk about my mom; why I didn't grow up with her, how our relationship crashed and burned, how I thought I'd never speak to her again and what it took to reset and start over.
