Things are always disappointing with these instruments and asset classes. When you look at the long term, everything has its peak buy some currencies like Turkish Lira have done well over the years. It all comes down to credibility of the countries. Most have declined or gone flat out over the long run. There are still instruments starting to rally like gold and silver as Western economies are showing debt holding back performance. Most stock markets have done well but most have flattened out so it is quite clear for central banks printing is not a long term nor credible solution.
