Aaron takes this as cause for extreme optimism: even when human beings go out of their way to annihilate the landscape, nature will always triumph in the end. Aaron chats with Chapel Hill Mayor Jess Anderson, who got reelected as mayor for another term in this week’s election. Anderson ran unopposed this year, but still took the opportunity to hit the campaign trail and talk to voters – and she says they had a lot to say, with concerns about the town’s budget (with a recent tax hike) but praise for some of the ways town officials have stepped up to address some of the critical issues facing our community. Anderson says it’ll be important to continue staying the course on those issues, while also putting in more of an effort to incorporate residents into key conversations.

What is EVA, and why is it important? Aaron welcomes UNC philosopher Michael Vazquez, who heads up the initiative along with fellow philosopher Sarah Stroud and music professor (and Chapel Hill poet laureate) Donovan Livingston.
