Before the advent of Amazon Prime delivery, UPS, and FedEx, the US Postal System was the only option.  It was a luxury and a necessity at the same time - a way to send information and a means by which supplies could be distributed throughout the nation.  As a matter of fact, did you know the US Postal Service processes over 160 million pieces of first class mail daily?  It's hard to fathom!  What's even more astounding though, that in the mid-19th Century, a package was delivered with a very heavy, fragile, and unexpected contents inside.  It wasn't an ordinary delivery, and it isn't a typical day at the post office - it's a tale only history can conjure up - and it's today's second episode of Season 3!
