This Side Up

Joe and Jack are recording on their own once again this week, and it gets pretty weird. It's kind of like a fever dream, except both parties are allegedly perfectly healthy at the time of recording.

This week: Mole people; Final Fantasy Versus XIII rumors; the return of survival horror; Jak & Daxter come to Vita; yet another Metal Gear Solid collection; Japan gets sweet Ace Attorney swag; a fairly crappy week of new releases; our Injustice: Gods Among Us review; sidekicks; more mole people.

Hey, so remember those interviews that we said we were working on for the show? We've finally got one, and it's the super-talented Ashly Burch. Maybe you know her from her popular web series Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?, or maybe you know her better as Tiny Tina from Borderlands 2. Maybe you've been in a coma and have no idea what any of this is. Either way, you don't want to miss it.

This week: Neck-deep in Nintendo news, including a new Link to the Past (!) and plenty more; Ashly Burch (45:18); Top 5 Top 5's.

Hosts: Joe Garcia (@Wons23), Jack Schrute (@thecinemajack)

Guest: Ashly Burch (@heyashwp)

This Side Up returns for its second episode, and we're already a man down as Jack is sick this week. Joe and Christa take advantage by making fun of him while he can't defend himself.

This week: A startling fact about Jack; Microsoft killing the new Xbox before its born; the Batman prequel everyone saw coming; Level-5's PS4 game; a very real, very cancelled Mega Man first-person shooter; Tales of Xillia comes overseas; the new Mewtwo (Newtwo?); Guacamelee!; the greatest characters this generation; upcoming games in 2013; mechanically separated chicken butts.

Welcome to the inaugural episode of This Side Up, the official podcast of Stealthy Box! Stealthy Box is a brand new multiplatform video game news site, where you can get all of the latest info, reviews, and editorials for Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. This Side Up features EIC Joe Garcia, contributor Christa Plunkett, and social media manager Jack Shrout as hosts. The goal of This Side Up is to produce a fun show discussing the various topics of gaming from this past week as well as site editorials and upcoming game releases. We also plan on attempting to lure in some great audio interviews for you to enjoy and already have one planned for a future episode, so stay tuned.

Expect to see our podcast release every on Wednesday afternoon. This week's release is early due to us wanting to get out an episode on launch, but due to a busy schedule, we were unable to.

Give it a listen and let us know what you think! We'd love your feedback so we can tweak the show as needed.

This week’s talking points: An intro to Stealthy Box and your hosts; Metal Gear Solid V loses its true voice; Joe digs Shovel Knight; what Kickstarter means for the industry; Darksiders II is pulled from the European Wii U eShop; a hidden mode in Gears of War Judgment; new releases; BioShock Infinite; Christa went to PAX East; our favorite new franchises this generation; Jack’s film blog, for some reason.

Hosts: Joe Garcia (@Wons23), Jack Shrout (@thecinemajack); Christa Plunkett (@cosmixlove)
