This week at The Table: A Covid Coffee

Listen Later

Tim Plett is back this week…but not in time to send the weekly email. Here’s what to look forward to:
Hey folks – happy “almost long weekend” to you all! We (the Plett clan) have enjoyed some vacation time this past month, which has been excellent. That said, I’m very excited to be back home and ready to continue exploring with all of you. A bit of extra time to step back and reflect has left me more convinced than ever of the merit of the commitment this community has to providing room to explore what we believe. One of the tenets of adult learning is that disruption equals opportunity, and if these don’t qualify as disrupted times, then I have no clue what might.
With that in view, in this Sunday’s Talky Bit I would like to introduce the setting and characters for a conversation that I expect to continue over the next couple of weeks. I’m not exactly sure how this will pan out, but I think The Table is a good place to take some risks. Short version – I’m wondering what would happen if the person whose existential musings comprise most of the wisdom book of Ecclesiastes sat down to have a (socially distanced) coffee with a 21st century psychologist to chat about possible ways to think about the current pandemic. This week will primarily be set up – some “why would we do this?” and meeting the characters. Maybe they’ll get started on their actual dialogue, maybe not. It’s all sort of unfolding as we go. Surely we’re used to that by now…:)
I’ll see you Sunday. Bring your imagination.
As usual we will be “gathering” on our Facebook page Sunday morning at 10:45!
