Hello and Welcome to the DX Corner for your weekly Dose of DX. I’m Bill, AJ8B.

The following DX information comes from Bernie, W3UR, editor of the DailyDX, the WeeklyDX, and the How’s DX column in QST. If you would like a free 2-week trial of the DailyDX, your only source of real-time DX information, just drop me a note at [email protected]

{Marathon Alert} VP0/H – South Shetland Islands - HF0PAS, Rafal, reports from the Polish “Arctowski” Antarctic Station on King George Island that poor weather and strong winds are delaying completion of the remaining antenna installations. Winds peaked at 38 meters per second Sunday. Last week, he assembled his third mast, mounted the 6-meter antenna, and completed several EME tests. Watch the spotting network for this one.

{Marathon Alert} ZL7 – Chatham Islands - As of last week ZL7DX, Chris, is once again active from Waitangi in the Chatham Islands, returning to the air after being off since late February. He is operating FT8 on multiple bands with a DX Commander antenna, following damage to his Hexbeam during recent high winds. QSL via M0OXO.

5H – Tanzania - A reminder, the NK8O (Charles) work trip to Chihoni, Tanzania, is QRV until July 2. Working around his job assignments, he will be on the air as 5H3DX. He will be using 100 watts to a dipole, vertical, and long wire antenna, CW, FT8 and FT4, 40-6M. He will upload the log to LoTW and Club Log. For a paper QSL, it’s 5 USD through PayPal: https://www.qrz.com/db/5H3DX

{Marathon Alert} C2 – Nauru - Phil, C21TS, confirms he will depart Nauru on July 22. Meantime, he will be working “a lot of new ones.” He has been doing some Club Log livestream and Club Log log search. He says 99.9% of the time Club Log has real time updates.

PJ2 – Curacao -PJ2/PH2M, operator Frank, will be on the air until June 29, mainly FT8 and “some FT4 and SSB,” various bands. QSL using Club Log OQRS, or LoTW, or direct to his home QTH.

{Marathon Alert} A6 – United Arab Emirates - A60PC is a special event callsign that is QRV until June 30th, in support of the UAE’s Pledge and Commitment. This national initiative invites people to affirm their loyalty to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and their sense of belonging to the UAE, while promoting peace, coexistence, social unity, national responsibility, and the preservation of these values for future generations.

VP2V – British Virgin Islands - Jonathan, W5GI, will operate from his second QTH in the British Virgin Islands until June 30th. He’ll be active as VP2V/W5GI operating on 10–40 meters via SSB and FT8. You may also email him to arrange a Schedule.

{Marathon Alert} EX – Kyrgyzstan - EX/KZ1R, Mike Chirkov, will operate vacation-style from Sergey’s summer house in Tamga, Kyrgyzstan, from June 27 to July 4. He plans to be active mainly on 6 meters, with some HF operation on 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters using FT8. Antennas will include a 6-element Yagi for 50 MHz and a random wire or delta loop for HF. A possible second trip may take place in August, but dates are not yet confirmed. QSL confirmations will be available only via LoTW and Club Log, free of charge; no paper QSL cards will be issued. Logs are expected to be uploaded daily.

{Marathon Alert} CE0Y – Easter Island - CE3YMR, Manu reports the 3G0YM DXpedition from Rapa Nui is continuing as planned despite heavy rain, strong winds, and minor antenna damage that was quickly repaired. They describe the island as an extraordinary destination, highlighting its landscapes, cultural heritage, moai statues, and warm hospitality. While 6-meter propagation has been very limited so far, he continues monitoring the band and working hard to give as many operators as possible a chance to make contact.
