This Week In MLB The Show

TWITCH SHOW AUDIO

Roster Updates are here, which means Coop and The Weasel need to ascertain whether it was exciting, underwhelming, or just right in terms of upgrades and downgrades.

We have yet another new patch, but did this one make hitting too hard?

A new event brings us Eric Gagne, camo equipment, and lots of Phil Niekro. Lots and lots of Phil Niekro. Will the knuckleball nightmare ever end?

Weasel and the Big Red Machine venture out to a local baseball card show, and with it comes some delicious retro packs that the guys open live on stream.

In which Cooperstown Kurt sits down with CJ aka Outside Slider of The Breaking Company to talk about all things BASEBALL CARDS!

CJ talks his early card collecting obsession, explaining how seeing the 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey JR rookie card was love at first sight.

The guys track through a myriad of different collecting eras- covering Score, Donruss Diamond Kings, Fleer, Topps, Giant Bowman, and more.

Through it all, Coop asks CJ the important questions regarding card collecting today...

What is the state of the industry right now?

What is a break? A hit?

What are base cards? Autos, relics, refractors?

Does Beckett still exist? What about card shows?

And finally, yes, it's true... Kurt and CJ talk about The Goonies.

Oh yeah, and there's a fog machine.

Mother's Day equipment is here... and MLB The Show is celebrating by giving you... an Eddie Matthews card? How do you get it, should you get it, and where does he fit on the squad.

New Programs were released, clearing up some of the Career Arc confusion... but only some of it, as we still don't know where Darwin Barney fits into the equation...

Also, the Red Sox.

Who would the guys most want in the game from Boston? Are Wade Boggs and Roger Clemons traitors? And what's up with Yaz?

All this and more in a new podcast edition of This Week In MLB The Show!

NOTE: THIS IS AUDIO FROM THE LIVE TWITCH SHOW MONDAY NIGHT.

In which Coop & The Weasel break down the week that was...

We got a new gameplay patch... which left some people wanting an immediate patch for the patch, while others saw the steps forward as a positive sign.

This led several major players and streamers to start showcasing their love of MLB The Show 16, which in turn caused other players to revolt against the revolt? I don't know, it was tough to sort out, but Coop does his best to explain the situation.

It all ends with a call for peace from SDS themselves...

Speaking of SDS, communication issues are addressed.

Does the new WS reward Robinson Cano make your squad?

Player of the Month packs are here, with some tantalizing options for your lineup, but more importantly... what does the cryptic "Immortal progress" blog comment mean?

Wade Boggs is your Event Reward. And Phil Niekro is your Event Nightmare.

#TWItop5 offers a reward, and finally... Millennial Nate is in studio to close the show!

Franchise Nation gets some love, as Coop takes over the Baltimore Orioles and tries to navigate them back to prominence.

#TWItop5 closes out the show along with some Create-A-Player thoughts...

The guys get geeky about arcades, throwing controllers, and why he doesn't care if he isn't great at the game.

Other topics include-

The ease of hitting a fastball.

If Kris Bryant should be terrible at third base?

Why Battle Royale and Events aren't really arcade modes.

What SDS could be thinking with pitch speeds.

Why social media could be having unintended consequences in conjunction with community interaction.

And if SDS would care if all content creators simply went away.

The dancing PCI debate rages on within the community, sparking a "Casual vs Competitor" debate that seems to provide no relief for either side.

The Event is briefly covered, #TWItop5 returns, and....

MillennialNate steps into the batter's box... for real... against a 90mph fastball.
