This Week in My 20’s with Jayden Inscho, AKA My Best Friend!

I’m so excited to bring my best friend, my ride or die, my brother, and my cousin onto the show.Jayden and I have been best friends for just over 8 years.

For most of that time, our friendship has been long distance, staying close through phone calls, game chats, and whatever random game we happened to be playing at the time.

Once or twice a year, our paths finally cross in person, and this year they crossed for a full week while camping. We’ve seen each other through some of the hardest seasons of our lives, and I’m extremely thankful to have this guy in my corner.

In this episode, Jayden opens up about his love life, the complications of being in your 20s, and his struggles with self-love.

I’m really proud of this one, and even more proud to call him my best friend.

This Week in My 20’s with Makayla Freeman!

In this episode, I’m proud to welcome my second family member onto the show: my older cousin and close friend, Makayla Freeman.

Makayla is the oldest of the cousins I grew up with, so she has always been someone I’ve looked up to. Growing up, she always made time for me, whether it was to talk about books, life, or give me advice when I needed it. She has been a huge part of my life, helping me through some of the darkest seasons of my life and being there for some of the brightest.

In this episode, we look back on her 20s and talk about travel, relationships, work-life balance, the challange of change and the tough lessons that helped shape her through that season of life.

I’m truly honoured to have Makayla on the show.

Having Fun Is Okay!

In this episode, I’m sharing a bit more beyond my weekly experience, especially since it’s been a while since I’ve recorded one by myself.

I talk about how pursuing fun has changed the way I view rejection, judgment, growth, and the impact it’s had on my summer.

I’ve been putting off recording this episode for a while. Honestly, it felt easier to hide behind guest interviews than keep sharing about my own life. Solo episodes force me to look at things differently and ask myself, “What can I learn from this?”

But I’m finally back, recording more videos about life in my 20s, and reminding myself that having fun is not a waste of time. Sometimes it’s the thing that helps you grow.

In this episode, I talk with my new found friend Alanna!

I may not have known her for long, but I can already tell we’re in for a legendary friendship. Alanna shares about having to grow up fast, dealing with mental illness, feeling separated from culture and community, and how she has moved through those seasons of her life.

What I loved about this conversation is Alanna’s ability to talk about hard things with the depth and honesty they deserve, while still staying light, fun, and unafraid to admit when she doesn’t have everything figured out.

Basically, she’s an experienced veteran at the ripe age of 25.

In this episode, I sit down with a member of my family, one of my favourite people, and the first cousin to make it onto the show: Gabrielle Freeman.

Family has always been hugely important to me, which makes this conversation feel especially meaningful. Gabrielle is the first cousin to appear as a guest on the show, and she’s also one of my first friends. We grew up together, with her as one of the older cousins doing life a few steps ahead of me, and today she shares some of the wisdom and experiences she has gained from navigating her 20s.
