God bless the NFL season, for it will consume us whole with drama and tension alike. May the games be spectacles and may our teams not get wrecked by injury and impotence alike. The NFL is king, and we will feast on the droppings that fall to us from its sweet, sweet table.
Trades: They can be a beautiful thing. Either shaping a future championship run or the impetus to a hilarious downfall. I've seen both happen and it will most likely happen again here. As the dust settles and the playoff pushes begin, there are three different tiers: The All-In Pushers, the Average Buyer, and the Fireseller.
The Salary Cap is finally going back up again in the NHL! That means it's time for the free market to do its thing. Bottom sixers and third-pairing defensemen getting a bag for their services, even if they're being quite overpaid for it. That's the price of free agency: It's a pay-to-play game, and if you don't have the stomach to open the vaults for these talents, you'll have to sit this out.
I wanted this to be more of a rapid-fire episode, considering the quick nature of the trade deadline, but it turned out to be a 15+ minute episode. I can't win. However, there are some teams that ended up winning the deadline with big moves and filling needs throughout the roster.
