This week's episode is a little different! No Colonnade content. This episode is a project for my philosophy class in which I interview famous 19th century German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Jack kind of kills the German accent in this so hopefully y'all find it entertaining.
In this week's episode, Eric sits down with Deep River Outfitters owner, Keith Lindsey, and DRF 2022 brand manager, Gavin Nies, to discuss this year's festival. Deep River Fest will be held on Saturday, April 23 at Specht Farms with shuttles running all day from the Centennial Center to the venue. Tickets are $20 for pre-sale and can be purchased here. Use promo code "GCC" at checkout for a discount!
This week Eric sits down with editors Katie Futch and Lilyana Kovacheva to discuss the Battle of the Bands, homelessness in Milledgeville, the Career Center, Dungeons & Daiquiris, Valentine's Day, and Pisces Szn. Sports editor Ben was busy doing sports (who's surprised?) and couldn't meet this week, so Eric runs through GC sports highlights at the top of the episode.
This week, Eric's joined by the new Colonnade assistant editors, Rebecca Meghani, Jaylon Brooks, and Hayden Flinn to discuss the quality enhancement program, conspiracy theories, Valentine's Day, Cathy Cox's inaugural state of the university address, financial aid options, Flo Rida's homecoming performance, the men's basketball team's two-game skid, and the new recruits on the softball team.
In the first episode of the semester, Eric sits down with editors Katie Futch, Lilyana Kovacheva, and Ben Grunert to talk about stories in The Colonnade like Milly Grub's opening, downtown tunnel rumors, the new Jamba Juice robot, Euphoria, resolutions, and all things GC Basketball.
Eric and Ben chat before GC's game against Flagler and joke that by the time the audience hears the episode, GC will have already won. GC did not win.
Eric recorded this episode with other people in the room, and as such, there is a little bit of background noise. He's sorry but knows that true fans will power through anyway. Plus, it's the first episode of the semester featuring all of news, sports, and A&L!
This week Asst. News Editor Katie Futch joins the show to discuss the history of Central State, her Q&A with new GC president Cathy Cox, Terrell Hall wins Preservation Award, and the staff published an op-ed airing our grievances against the school onboarding us as employees.
