George Whitfield's commentary on 1 Corinthians 2:2, I believe, explains quite masterfully our need for this knowledge.

We look at some of each speakers work, what they are known for, if they call themselves pastor, if they preach over men, and if they connect themselves with false teachers.
    This is to lay ground work for the following critique on the conference where I will go over some of the teachings presented and how Scripture was handled at the conference.
