This is quite the historic week on the show as we will review the very first film released in 2021. Buckle up as we hop on a World War 2 Bomber plane with Chloe Grace Moretz plagued with the task of protecting a mysterious package. Before long Chloe is faced with a crew, reluctant to accommodate her presence along with a barrage of Japanese bomber planes trying to blow them out of the skies. There may even be a mysterious presence lurking in the shadows, threatening everyone on board. Join us for this action packed thrill ride during the month of January where movie studios typically dump the worst films of the year.

In this final week of 2020 we are finally diving into the world of Mainstream Cinema. With the big production companies like Disney and Warner Brothers finally dropping their movies on streaming services we have some especially juicy content to round out the year. First we go decades into the future as the world is unrecognizable and only inhabitable in the arctic as George Clooney attempts to lead a group of unsuspecting astronauts to safety. Then we go back to the time of neon leotards and Richard Simmons as Wonder Woman must protect the world from a mysterious Crystal that falls into the hands of a greedy businessman. Finally take out your tissue box as we follow a musician that has lost his passion for music, only to be transported out of his body when he falls through a man hole. He soon comes to find out theres much more to life than money and success.

This weeks films were The Midnight Sky (Netflix), Wonder Woman 1984 (HBOMax/Theaters) and Soul (Disney+).

This week we have quite the lawsuit on our hands as Julia Roberts becomes a legal assistant and almost single handedly brings down the California Power Company in the true story known as Erin Brockovich. Then our stomachs begin to turn as Haley Bennet plays a newly pregnant housewife that finds herself obsessed with eating dangerous foreign objects in the film with a very fitting title, Swallow. Finally we follow one of the most iconic singer/songwriters of our lifetime, as Jamie Foxx takes on the role of his career encapsulating the R&B legend Ray Charles in none other than the Oscar winning film, Ray.

Meryl Streep and James Cordon lead a comedy musical directed by Glee creator Ryan Murphy. Next we open a storybook to experience some incredible hand drawn animation where a young girl transforms into a wolf and must protect the pack from her father who’s job it is to rid them from the forest. Sean Bean stars in the Apple TV+ original film.

This weeks films are The Prom (Netflix) and Wolfwalkers (Apple TV+).

After a week of technical difficulties we are back with a broad assortment of films we have never seen before. First we go back to the early 90’s as three friends try to survive their childhood amongst gang violence in the dangerous neighborhoods of Los Angeles in one of the early films of Cuba Gooding Jr Snow dogs, Boyz n the hood (1991). Then we go to a snowy secluded town that is torn apart after a tragedy kills most of the town’s children in The Sweet Hereafter (1997). Finally we check out one of the earlier films of Academy Award winning Director Bong Jun Ho, where a mother desperately searches for the killer who framed her son in the murder of a young woman in, Mother (2009).

This week we thought we would get a little sentimental and watch some movies we’re thankful for. Grab a turkey leg and take a seat as we fall in love and time travel with Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams in About Time (2013). Then buckle up for a classic crime drama where Leonardo Dicaprio evades authorities all while impersonating various professions in Stephen Spielbergs, Catch Me If You Can (2002). Finally we go back to a time we wish we could all relive once more, as a group of high school seniors spend one last night on the strip before going off to college in American Graffiti (1973).
