This is a deeply personal account of recovering from breast cancer - but it’s also a powerful reflection on the role confidence plays in recovery and in reclaiming yourself after such a significant health challenge.
Nevo Burrell’s story is about gratitude, control, and individuality. It’s about focusing on what you can control - especially how you choose to present yourself to the world - and embracing the truth that your individuality is what makes you, you.
Nevo Burrell is an image consultant and stylist who has been passionate about fashion and presentation from a young age. She advocates for confidence through timeless style, guiding individuals through transformations—whether advancing in their careers, recovering post-treatment, or overcoming personal challenges.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer over a decade ago, Nevo recognised a lack of support for helping thrivers reconnect with their bodies post-treatment. This inspired her to pioneer the concept of dressing for healing. Today, she supports women who have experienced cancer, as well as others on their journey to confidence and self-expression, believing that dressing well is a vital form of self-care.
Her career includes serving on the Board of the Federation of Image Professionals International, styling for Breast Cancer Now’s ‘The Show’, and working at Future Dreams House, a breast cancer charity. She supports Black Women Rising, advises at Perci Health, and has contributed to exhibitions like Outwitting Cancer at the Francis Crick Centre. Her portfolio also spans independent productions and commercials, including a Vodafone Internet Safety advert.
