Five Flavors of Funk 21 : "Brit Funk #5" - Chas Jankel

We are back with another edition of "The Five Flavors of Funk"!  And for the uninitiated, it's time to hop over to the British Isles once again to finally recognize the amazing talents of Chas Jankel!  This multi-talented artist can do no wrong in my opinion, from his eclectic use of his songwriting talents to his awesome mix of funk, jazz, electronica, disco, punk, R&B, synth-pop and new wave.  And that's just for starters!

I'm dedicating this episode to my brother Chane who passed away unexpectedly last month.  Whenever I hear the song "Number One" by Chas Jankel, it reminds me of he and I watching the film "Real Genius" with my other brothers and quoting the memorable lines from that awesome 80s film.  He loved this type of music and he would've equally loved this episode.

This episode is dedicated to all the children of the world and every student I’ve had the pleasure to teach. Here’s to many years of teaching happy children.

In my videos you will see some visual slideshows that I would use in my classes for children to be able to sing along comprehensively, I would use colour coding and easy to read fonts.

If it is of any of use to you I hope you can play it in your classroom or at home also.

I tried to calculate how many children I have worked with here in Japan.

If you consider that there is 500 children and an average elementary school not to mention the countless lessons I’ve given at language schools… it must be something like 10,000 kids and upwards I can’t even comprehend it.

I hope most of them will only have fond memories of me.
