The story was good and kept my attention. Very glad the author answered almost all the questions of this "mystery". However I was disappointed when the book took storm toward "women's fiction" with unnecessary descriptions of sex or titillation. This gave the book a "first novel" feel as if the author used sex as filler.
The reader was ok - but seemed noted by the story at times.
Not a mystery or thriller
Nasal narrator. Annoying main character. Lots of navel gazing and woe is me. This is a "love story" I suppose, but not a good one.
Woman's husband goes missing. Her male best friend is there to pick up the pieces. Chapter after chapter of her comparing male friend to husband and discussing how friend is in love her (why? I will never know.)
Too predictable
A long and drawn out story with a very predictable ending. For me, it wasn't worth the the time that it took to get through the book. There was no real climax.

I liked the story very much but felt like it dragged on and on. The narrator took some getting used to. Not very dynamic which may have lent itself to how long the book seemed.

this poor unhappy woman was a complete turnoff.....self centered, whiny, and a complete me-firster. There's no reason to think this guy wouldn't leave.....why would he stay?
