Thoughts From The Tinkerage episodes

  • Episode 21 - Seasonal Change

Change is one of the absolutely inevitable parts of life.  A short episode this week. Apologies for the rather strange audio at the start, I had to run some noise reduction on it as there was an even more annoying background hum from my heater which I had forgotten to turn off.

  • Episode 20 - 42 Lessons from Figments Made

The maker community recently lost one of it's best friends in Sharon from Figments Made.

    I considered her a friend.

She was the epitomy of a maker.

She was a teacher.  In this podcast I share just 42, or so, lessons that I have learned from Sharon.

I'm sorry for some of the longer than normal gaps and the sometimes slightly under par voice; recording this was difficult. I hope you understand.

Rather than share my social details here this episode, go and check out Sharon's work.  Also Phil Thompson and Dan Gamble's.

  • Episode 018 - Powerful Words #1

Following on from last week's new occasional series called Dangerous Words, i thought it only right to look at empowering words, positive words and phrases.  The first word on the list is "yet".

This is mostly from the viewpoint of creativity but also from the rest of our lives.

As you will hear I'm not quite sure yet what to call this series. If you have any ideas on what I should call it or want to share your stories of things you've said you can't do but can if you add the word yet, then reach out to be using one of the links below.

  • Episode 016 - 5 Reasons Makers Should Make YouTube Videos

What it says in the title, although I hint at a sixth reason. I also mention a couple of reasons not to use for starting a YouTube channel.

The points I make can apply to makers of any sort and also to those that don't consider themselves part of the maker movement.

There are four honourable mentions this week:
    Christopher Smith, a.k.a. The Woodgineer. https://www.instagram.com/woodgineer/ & https://www.youtube.com/the_woodgineer

  • Episode 012 - The Maker Community

During the Covid-19 lockdown I've been giving quite a bit of thought to communities and, in particular, the maker community. A topic I'm sure I will come back to.
