Thoughts of a TechnoWizard

I reflect over my journey so far and talk about the role of acceptance in managing with our emotions and frustrations in order to more fully live our limitless potential.

I discuss my experience with interviewing new applicants and why trial runs should be standard for a hiring process. I then go into No Cap Gaming's arguments about Skyrim and gaming and make connections with the problem of our real life civilization https://youtu.be/H6q49XC5AaE I also talk a bit about longtermism https://youtu.be/vvehj0KvzK8

Facebook went down yesterday. I hope this will be even more proof of why we need to decentralize the internet, but I fear nothing will change. Nonetheless, I ideate a little about my ideal tech ecosystem.

I talk about my trip to Cairo for the funeral and talk about the various problems, thoughts, and observations I had while there. I then share what I learned about narcissism from the clinical psychologist Dr. Ramani. Low grade narcissism - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjUAzw5reZA Being raised by a narcissist - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRMhS6oeehY

Some more chatting about a few ideas, thoughts, and concepts I've been exploring of late. I get into the history of Debt as outlined in this tweet thread https://twitter.com/doctorow/status/1443269178132086785?s=19 as well as corrections about my game/virtual world idea, expanding a positive futures concept, and the nature of human nature

Today I try to self assess this feeling I have of wanting to fast forward through life. Then I share my dreams/ideas about the future of games. What if we could build games (and virtual worlds in general) that are as immersive, complex, and interactive as the real world.. or even more so? Could it spark a new age of creativity, imagination, and actionable optimism?

I chat about various things on my mind: vaccines, malatasta, FD Signifiers video on Kanye and Kayfabe, Khadija Mbowe's video on race, Zoe Baker's video on the anarchist Malatasta, and so much more....

I talk about feeling demotivated last week, as well as go on tangents about vaccines and growing up with anti vaxers. I also get into the need for a better way to surface good information online. Then I spend an hour talking about my favorite story thus far: The Wandering Inn!!

Today I connect Hegel's arguments against the monochromatic lense of people who wish to describe the world through a singular lense (such as economics or politics or dystopia) with the aims of Solarpunk, in which seeks to supply an alternative view for more positive futures.

Inspired by this morning's Polymath Networking Cafe, I liken being a polymath to being a magic user. In this episode, I show how being able to think from different perspectives is like being able to see the world as a magician. Stage Performers, Wizards, Clerics, Druids, Warlocks, Chronomancers, Necromancers and so on are all different ways of studying the world to invent new, magical understandings.
