    4.7 million cases of COVID19 in the United States as of today, August 2, 2020.  Over 60k cases per day, 157k deaths, and over 1,200 more deaths in the past 24 hours.  This pandemic is rampant in this country and yet there is a push to physically reopen schools.  In conversations all across the nation, there is one voice that has been ignored as plans are made about what to do over the next few weeks in regards to education, and that is the voice of teachers.

    Listen in as a middle-school teacher and I discuss COVID19, the different reopening plans for schools, the process, and the concerns.

    Sam Kelly has been an educator for almost two decades and in Threads of Commonality she will take you on a virtual road show to explore the world issues that unite us.  She seeks out change-makers, everyday people that are stepping up and making a difference.  In each episode, she tackles a different issue, connects you to someone new, and ends with steps we all can take to bring about a better world, for everyone.
    Don't keep calm and carry on.  Go out and be fierce, stare reality in the face, and make a change.  You'll be glad you did.
