Episode 8 goes deep, real deep, as we head through the crust and mantle of the planet in the 2003 sci-fi film The Core. We follow a team of scientists as they journey to the center of the Earth to get the core spinning again and save humanity (after humans screwed it up in the first place). Roger is our "Newman" this time and boy howdy does he have some thoughts about this movie. So join us as we laser impellar our way through the layers of this film to find out if Sue has a crush on Bruce Greenwood, if Todd can find any factual science, and if Roger has lost the will to live and just wants it all to END.

Episode 7 finds us floating in space deep in cryo sleep just waiting to be found so that we can watch the 1986 movie sequel Aliens! In this sequel to Alien, Ellen Ripley first takes the blame for the previous movie, then is the only hope to save the movie. She's tasked with returning to the alien-infested moon with a team of space Marines only to find herself playing a surrogate mother while in a desperate battle for survival against a xenomorph hive. Sue is our "Newman" this week, and she hadn't seen Alien or Aliens. Join us, won't you, as Sue demands to know if Ripley's cat is a Flerkin, if Roger is ready to join the space Marines, and if Todd just keeps shouting "game over, man! Game over!"

Episode 6 of Three for the Show takes place Far Far Away. No, it's not a Star Wars movie, but the movie does have a princess. This week we are talking about the 2004 sequel Shrek 2. Fiona and Shrek take a road trip to her home kingdom of Far Far Away to visit her parents. Once they arrive they are faced with disapproval, magical mishaps, a furry assasin, and a scheming Fairy Godmother determined to break them apart so Fiona can marry her shampoo commercial son, Prince Charming. Todd is our “Newman” this week, so join us as we find out if he will find his happy ever after, if Roger finally gets a Monte Cristo, and if Sue can get Holding Out for a Hero out of her head.

In episode 5 of Three for the Show, there’s a flying saucer in Washington DC! This time we are watching the 1951 sci-fi cult classic The Day the Earth Stood Still. In this black and white movie, an alien named Klaatu arrives on Earth with a powerful robot to deliver an ultimatum: humanity must live peacefully or face destruction. Susan and Todd have both seen this movie, but it is the first time for Roger, which makes him our “Newman.” Will Roger save the day or sell us out to the military? Will Susan face Gort alone amongst a sea of chairs? Will Todd’s itchy trigger finger be the death of us all? Only time will tell.

The movie follows Andy Dufresne as he navigates life in Shawshank State Penitentiary after being wrongly imprisoned for the murder of his wife and her golf-pro lover. Over the years, he forms a deep friendship with fellow inmate Red while secretly planning his escape and seeking redemption. Todd and Roger have both seen the movie, but Sue has avoided it for years, which makes her our “Newman.” Join us, won’t you, as we find out if Todd gets sent to the Hole, Roger gets his taxes done, or Sue ends up on a boat in Zihuatanejo.

It's episode 3 of Three for the Show and this time we have gone way back in the way-back machine to visit the violent yet musical streets of New York in the 1961 musical masterpiece West Side Story. Based on the 1957 Broadway musical, this film is a "modern" retelling of Romeo and Juliet set in 1950s New York City. The story follows two rival gangs: the Jets and the Sharks, who are locked in a violent turf war. But when Tony, a former Jet, meets Maria, sister of the Shark's leader, sparks fly. There's singing, there's dancing, and there's fighting. Roger and Sue have both seen this movie, which means Todd (and his notorious dislike of musicals) is our "Newman." So join us as we find out if Todd stays cooly cool, boy, Roger declares that he feels pretty, and Sue starts a rumble. Okay, daddy-o?

This cult classic is a sci-fi adventure about a teenager, Alex Rogan, who is recruited by an alien defense force to fight in an intergalactic war after achieving a high score on a video game that turns out to be a recruitment tool. Todd and Sue have both seen this movie, which means Roger is our “Newman” this week. Find out if the cheese is too much for Roger or if he will embrace the early computer graphics as we work our way through our categories and then head off to the stars.
