Living Outside the Matrix

Three Minute Therapy – with Dr Michael Edelstein

Listen Later

Emotional problems are inexplicable until you understand that emotions depend on our thinking. Only by grasping the causal relationship between our thoughts and our values can we understand that it is our values and our stored conclusions and expectations that determine our emotions. Dr Michael Edelstein’s ‘three minute therapy’ is a simple way to teach you to understand this relationship that can help you fix many of your day to day emotional issues.
In Episode 102 of “Living outside the Matrix” Dr Edelstein shares his method and his approach and walks us through the process of over-writing our “musts” with preferences so as to effect a change of our emotional reaction to circumstances. It is an approach that turns many conventional therapies on their head and recognises that emotions are entirely underdstandable and controllable in an indirect way.
Three Minute Therapy

Understanding our emotions is a very important pre-requisite for enjoying your life. Until you get the cause and effect nature of thoughts/values and emotions in the correct order you will only experience confusion and bewilderment.
To further appreciate this realtionship read this article that explains their nature in depth. Emotions a rational explanation. Love is a similarly misunderstood concept, and the consequences of not underdtanding it wreck far too many lives. Understanding the rational explanation of love that actually makes sense is another important component of your self-education.
